Trekking around Manaslu offers a unique opportunity to experience relatively "untouched" region of Nepal. Opened for trekking only since 1991, it provides spectacular beauty along the border of Nepal and China and is now a controlled trekking route which allows organized trekking groups special permits to venture round its spectacular circuit. Located in west-central Nepal, the 177-km trek around Manaslu provides strong walkers the best that Nepal has to offer: fantastic mountain scenery, spanning altitudes from 375m to 5,300m.a diverse range of ecosystems and ethnic cultures. This is the trail that puts one physically closer to Tibet than any other trek in Nepal.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport and transfer to hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Gorkha which takes about eight hours. From Gorkha Bazaar 45 minutes walk up to the Gorkha palace which is the nice view point and an important historical place related to King Prithivi narayan Shah, visit there about 15 minutes around the palace with enjoying nice views and 10 minutes walk to the campside (kalikasthan 1650m). The campside is a very nice view point of Boudha himal, Himchuli and Manaslu.)

Day 03: Trek from Kalikasthan to Khanchowk (1000m) which takes about six hours. This day the way descent in the beginning 30 minutes several steps passing down and flat. There is already built a road but no vehicles are run there. You have to walk several up and down the side of the road and most of flat trail along the ridge both side. You can see very nice views even though very far mountains. You will pass many villages on the way where are mix peoples like Gurung, Chettri, Brhamin, kami, damai etc. Khanchowk is more than 25 houses settlement there; it’s like small bazaar with majority of mix peoples. And it is nice to walk at evening around Ghampesal for while.

Day 04: Trek from Khanchowk to Kharchwok (1550m) and it takes about six hours. This day the way is local trail, just local peoples are following this trail. This day is uphill and then zigzag up and down way through many mix villages with thin forest and very nice views along the ridge. This is very interesting way for trekking. Kharchowk is settlement of several houses and here you will find majority of gurung.

Day 05: Trek from Kharchowk to Barpak (1750m) which takes about six hours. This day several river you have to pass and up and down way through the forest, you pass the Kayaure gurung village, several up and down and forest, village and forest walk. Barpak is settlement of more than 60 houses with majority of Gurung and Chettri Brahamman and many people from this village are in British Gorkha and Indian Gorkha army.

Day 06: Trek from Barpak to Dhansirakharka (2000m) and it takes about five hours. This day in the beginning, the way is flat /straight and descent down 30 minutes to Dorondi Khola after crossing the suspension bridge the way starts to climb for the Dhansirakharka camp side. Dhansirakharka is only Kharka there; there are few shelters settlement there because the villagers from Barpak brings their cattle’s there in the summer.

Day 07: Trek from Dhansirakharka to Bhaisekharka (3950m) which takes about six hours. This day you walk uphill along the Dorondi Khola and Juniper and pine trees forest.

Day 08: Trek from Bhaisekharka to Rupinala glacier (4000m) and it takes about eight hours. This day gradually up about 4 hours and pass Rupinala pass 4643m and down hill to the glacier camp. This day is very hard day for this trekking.

Day 09: Trek from Glacier camp to Chuling Khola Kharka (3950m) which takes about five hours on the glacier. Around Chuling khola this place is one of the best valley in Nepal for the view and so quite place, we feel like hidden valley even though different landscape and mountains.

Day 10: Trek from Chulingkhola Kharka to Ngyak bensi which takes about

Day 11: Ngyak bensi to Ghap (2156m) 6 and ½ hours walk.

Day 12: Ghap to Li Gompa (about 3650m) 6 hours walk.

Day 13: Li Gompa to Raman Kunda (3950m) 6 hours walk.

Day 14: Raman Kunda to Sama Gompa (3530m)4 hours walk.

Day 15: Sama Gompa to Samdo village (3780m) 5 and ½ hours walk.

Day 16: Samdo village to Dharmasala rest house (4480) 5 hours walk.

Day 17: Dharmasala rest house to Bhimtang (3530m) 7 hours walks. 5213m Larkela pass and going down way to Bhimtang.

Day 18: Trek from Bimthang to Dharapani (1860 m.) which takes about four hours. Crossing this high pasture, you descend the valley of the Burdin Khola to the area of the Base Camp for the West side of Manaslu. From a ridge at 4150 meters, you have excellent views of Manaslu to the South East and Annapurna II to the South West. Beyond a bridge over the headwaters of the Dudh Khola, you descend into a rhododendron forests and follow a trail through a narrow valley until you reach the highest cultivated land in this valley at Karche, 2785 meters. Walking down you cross a stream to reach Tilje. There is an apple orchard and it is quite famous for local wine. Leaving Tilje, you trek uphill for nearly 45 minutes and reach Dharapani crossing a bridge over Marshyangdi river.

Day 19: Dharapani to Danaquekharka (5900m) 6 hours walk.

Day 20: Danaquekharka to Rambrong Danda (5000m) camp. The way goes at beginning very steep 2 to 3 hours to Namubhanjyang pass 5560m and gradually going down and flat on the glacier to the Rambrom Danda. This is one of the best view point campside even so high place.

Day 21: Rambrong Danda to Lamjung base camp for day excursion and back to camp.

Day 22: Rambrong Danda to Taprang Dharmasala (3460m) 6 hours walk.

Day 23: Taprang Dharmasala to Ghyamrang (2450m) 6 hours walk.

Day 24: Ghyamrang to Sahure Bhanjyang (1040m) 6 and ½ hours walk.

Day 25: Sahure Bhanjyang to Begnas Tal (610m) 2 hours walk.

Day 26: Begnas Tal one day rest.

Day 27: Spare day for rest day on the way where necessary during the Adventure pass.

Day 28: Begnas Tal to Kathmandu by private transport 6 hours drive.

Day 29: Day at leisure in Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 30: Departure from Kathmandu. Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until your departure flight/drive or to commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you'll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
